18/12/2025 0 Comments Private Thai Cooking Class & Sam Yaek Market Tour – Chiang Mai | 17 December 2025We began our day at Sam Yaek Market, my local farmers market, where I personally guided them through the fresh produce, herbs, and seasonal ingredients that we later used in our cooking. This market visit is one of my favorite parts of the day — meeting the vendors I know, choosing vegetables together, and sharing how Thai people really shop and cook at home. Smiling, baskets full, and ready to cook — a perfect start to a very personal cooking experience The cool season in Chiang Mai is perfect for gardening and farming. Fresh, seasonal vegetables make all the difference in Thai cooking, and this is the best time of year to enjoy them. We focused on vegetarian Pad Thai at the wok, learning how heat, timing, and balance bring the dish together using fresh vegetables and plant-based ingredients. From softening the noodles to combining the sauce at just the right moment, each step showed how satisfying vegetarian Thai cooking can be. Alongside Pad Thai, we also prepared crispy vegetarian Thai fried spring rolls and a fragrant vegetarian Thai curry, exploring the depth and variety of Thai food without relying on meat. We gathered at the dining table to enjoy the vegetarian dishes we had prepared together, from Pad Thai cooked at the wok to crispy fried spring rolls and a fragrant Thai curry. Because this was a private class, the day moved at our own pace — from the market and garden to the kitchen and finally the table. Sitting together, sharing the meal, and talking about flavors is my favorite part of a private class, where the experience feels personal, relaxed, and truly shared.
